Drake and Bad Bunny were part of a team for the track MIA MIA (2018), while Madonna teamed up with Maluma for Medellin in the year 2019. Some reggaeton artists lamented the trend towards mainstream music in the year 2020. A new band, Rauw Alejandro, wanted to continue the growth and evolution of reggaeton. The genre often incorporated electronic dance and other types.
