Scarlett Johansson (born November 22 1984 New York City New York, U.S.) American actress and singer whose acting variety earned her acclaim in a variety of styles from period dramas to thriller and action adventure. Johansson was born to an architect as well as producer, was born within New York City. She and her twin brother Hunter were the youngest of four siblings. By the time she was seven years old, her love of acting had increased. She began to audition for commercials. Following a short period, she began studying with the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. In the years following it was the time that the Professional Children's School was opened in Manhattan. She made her debut as an actress on film in North (1994) when she was nine. When she was eight years old, she was a part of Ethan Hawke on Off-Broadway in Sophistry. Johansson appeared next on screen in Just Cause (1996), but it was Manny & Lo 1996 that was her breakthrough. The film tells the story of two girls orphaned by their parents who run away. The film, The Horse Whisperer, Johansson played a teenage victim of a horrific accident. The role she played in Ghost World brought her more notoriety as the infamous teenager Rebecca. Smith got her debut acting job when she was just six, with her parents' encouragement. Smith appeared in a Dannon TV commercial. Like other young actors, she started her stage career. She also worked in other productions across the USA, while Wildflower was her debut on stage performance. She graduated from at the Stonestreet Studios Conservatory of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
